Anatomy Workshop Series for Yoga Teachers
Holly Clemens, E-RYT 500 and Yoga Tune-Up Certified Teacher will be offering a 4-series workshop at Prana. Participants will learn about fascia and explore the myofascial anatomy chains of the body through asanas and self-myofascial release techniques using the Yoga Tune-Up Therapy balls. Yoga Alliance continuing education hours will be given for each of the workshops attended. Sign up 1 or more. Descriptions of each of the workshops are listed on our website. Contact the studio to register.

Workshop 1: Reset the Anterior and Posterior Myofascial Chains
Date: Saturday March 4th, 2017
Time: 1-5 p.m.
Cost: $80 or $70 if you sign up for all 4 workshops.
This 4-hour anatomy-based workshop will analyze various asanasa and movements involved with the anterior and posterior myofascial chains. What are the anterior and posterior myofascial chains? They are long chains of myofascia that connect the feet to the head and occur in the sagittal plane. Think of movements such as squatting, backbending and forward bending.
You will learn basic movement assessments to analyze structural and soft-tissue issues in the anterior and posterior myofascial chains and apply corrective exercise strategies to address the issues. Some of the corrective strategies you will learn include self-myofasciaal release techniques with the Yoga Tune Up Therapy® balls and mobility and stability exercises. These techniques will help to enhance body awareness, improve mobility, stability and balance and down-regulate the nervous system. Please bring your own yoga mat to the workshop. Therapy balls will be provided for use during the workshop. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be awarded for attending the workshop.

Workshop 2: Reset the Lateral Myofascial Chains
Date: Saturday April 1st, 2017
Time: 1-5p.m.
This 4-hour anatomy-based workshop will analyze various asanasa and movements involved with the lateral myofascial chains. What are the lateral myofascial chains? They are long chains of myofascia that connect the sides of the body from the feet to the head and occur in the frontal plane. Think of movements such as side-bending, balancing on one leg, side planking and walking .
You will learn basic movement assessments to analyze structural and soft-tissue issues in the lateral myofascial chains and apply corrective exercise strategies to address the issues. Some of the corrective strategies you will learn include self-myofascial release techniques with the Yoga Tune Up Therapy® balls and mobility and stability exercises. These techniques will help to enhance body awareness, improve mobility, stability and balance and down-regulate the nervous system. Please bring your own yoga mat at to the workshop. Therapy balls will be provided for use during the workshop. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be awarded for attending the workshop.

Workshop 3: Reset the Spiral Myofascial Chains
Date: Saturday April 29th
Time: 1-5p.m.
This 4-hour anatomy-based workshop will analyze various asanasa and movements involved with the spiral myofascial chains. What are the spiral myofascial chains? They are long chains of myofascia that connect the sides of the body from the feet to the head and occur in the transverse plane. Think of movements that involve rotational components such as reverse triangle, thread the needle and lunges with twists. A key component will be addressing thoracic rotation issues.
You will learn basic movement assessments to analyze structural and soft-tissue issues in the spiral myofascial chains and apply corrective exercise strategies to address the issues.

Workshop 4: Reset the Deep “Core” Myofascial Chains
Date: Saturday May 13th, 2017
Time: 1-5 p.m.
This 4-hour anatomy-based workshop will analyze various asanasa and movements involved with the deep “core” myofascial chains. What are the deep “core” myofascial chains? They are long chains of myofascia that connect on a deeper core level body from the feet to the head and occur in every plane of motion. Think of movements that involve the tibialis posterior, abdominals, psoas, diaphragm, and neck muscles. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be awarded for attending the workshop.
You will learn basic movement assessments to analyze structural and soft-tissue issues in the deep “core” myofascial chain and apply corrective exercise strategies to address the issues.
