Restorative Yoga: A gentle class to reduce physical & emotional effects of stress, while slowing down the “chatter” of the mind. This class includes breath awareness and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation). By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance. The result is relaxation, greater mental clarity, improved alignment and physical freedom. By the end of this session you will feel a difference in the way you stand and sit and move.
Chair Yoga: Chair yoga is the practice of modifying yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, stress reduction, better sleep, and an overall sense of well-being. So come take a seat at Prana and yogi with us! Best part, you won’t even have to stand up!
Curvy Yoga: Curvy Yoga was created by Anna Guest-Jelley. It is a great way to get started on your own yogic journey. We were fortunate enough to have Carole Snyder bring Curvy to Prana. We have had an overwhelming response for this class. Curvy Yoga was created to celebrate all body types and support anyone who may be feeling that they want to try yoga but are unsure if yoga is for them. This class offers many modifications and variations for the traditional yoga posture. Curvy Yoga has been written about in Shape, Yoga Journal , Yoga International, Mantra, Vogue and more.
Vinyasa Yin: This class will consist of a nice Yin-Yang balance. Class will begin with a gentle warm up and will lead into an all-levels flow for the first half of the session. This will include using the breath as a connecting tool while moving through each asana, engaging the muscles and inspiring students to remember not just the destination, but the beauty in the journey. The remainder of the class will focus on the yielding yin poses, targeting the deeper joints and connective tissues of the body, serving as a reminder of the serenity in acceptance.

Yin Yoga: Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time. Postures can be held up to 5 minutes. Static stretching is excellent to increase range of motion. Therefore if you are tight due to repetitive movement from other sport activities or your day job keeps you in the same position 8 hours a day Yin yoga will help stretch it out.
Yin Yoga is also great for reducing stress in the body and mind. Holding poses without distraction for several minutes teaches us to relax. We begin to release tension that is deeply engrained in our muscles. You are encouraged to notice what comes up as you hold these longer poses but not to let yourself attach to those thoughts. Yin is for all levels.
Gentle Yoga Flow: This class is designed for those who enjoy vinyasa practice but are looking to slow it down a notch. For students new to yoga -or- those looking for a gentle class to reduce tension. Learn breath and body awareness, optimal posture and body mechanics. Focus on correct positioning in postures to strengthen the lower back, abdominal muscles, legs and upper body. Students experience the meditative benefits of yoga through linking of breath with movement. This class promotes balance, flexibility, and stress reduction.
Gentle Yoga Basics: Perfect for those with limited mobility or recovering from injury or surgery. This class provides a nurturing environment for you to relax deeply. Gentle poses and breathing techniques will be used in order to cultivate a deep state of healing. The class starts standing. It is a class that focuses on the individual and his/her needs as well as the group as a whole. Breath awareness and practices are used throughout the class. Chairs available.
Beginners Yoga: Have you been thinking about starting a Yoga Practice? This is a beginners class introducing you to the joyful practice of Yoga! In this class we will learn the fundamentals of a Yoga Practice including breath and body awareness, correct alignment in the postures and how to be present in the moment! Vinyasa will be introduced into this class, poses will flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. This class is a wonderful stepping stone for you to feel confident joining any of the Prana All Level Classes.
Embrace your rhythm of this truly elevating class. Slow Power Recharge is a mindful practice that links breath-work with movement, stimulating your body and clearing your mind. Slowing down the vinyasa flow helps aid in maintaining control of your breath, build strength and boost your practice. Each class ends with a 5-15 minute meditation practice, recharging you for the week ahead. This class is for all levels and those interested in deepening their commitment to a meditation practice.
Foundations Class: Learn the foundational poses and to link movement with breath. Learn the process of alignment by practicing asanas at a slower pace. Enhance your practice with yoga props and modifications. Practice breathing techniques and meditation. Build body awareness, confidence, flexibility and strength. Have fun and fall in love with yoga. Room will be kept cool. Feel free to bring questions.
All Levels Flow: This class is open to all levels and provides an opportunity to deepen your awareness of the poses for an overall calming effect. The pace is moderate and more intermediate poses will be introduced and practiced around Surya Namaskar A & B (Sun Salutations) Emphasis is placed on mindfulness and breath control. As always work at your own pace!
All Levels Slow Flow: This class is open to all levels. It is a slower pace then the All Levels Class. The room is not warmed at all. Stepping from the front of the mat is one of the main differences in this class. As with all of our classes breath is always incorporated into the movement of the body, allowing the student to experience a "meditation in motion."
Intermediate/Advanced Yoga: This Vinyasa class is comprised of an intelligent, dynamic sequence of flowing yoga postures built around a variety of Namaskars (Salutations), Mandala Salutations and Dancing Warrior series. Experience an increase in energy and strength while building heat. Learn to refine postures and deepen your connection to your body. Advanced asanas are introduced into these classes. As always modification are provided. A regular practice is recommended. Meditation and Pranayama are included in these classes.
Hot Yoga: Hot yoga is a class where the room is warmed to 85-90 degrees. It is a vinyasa style practice with emphasis on building strength and flexibility, using your breath to flow through each movement. This class utilizes the warmth of the room to help heal, detoxify and exhilarate the body and mind through movement, balance and intention.
Warm Candlelight: Warm Candlelight is a great way to end the week and start the weekend. This vinyasa class helps you to let go off the stresses of the week. The pace of the class varies from week to week but encourages you to stay present. Candles illuminate the room inviting an atmosphere of peacefulness.
Yoga Core: This class will begin with an All Levels Yoga flow to get your bodies warmed-up. The main concentration in this class will be on the core (obliques, abdominals, back) with the focus being on stretching and strengthening these large muscle groups. Improves back strength and core stability. This class includes mat Pilates work and Yoga.
Corporate Yoga: This class is reserved for your group. Whether you are a group of employees or friends we will customize this class to fit your special needs! Off-Site Corporate Yoga: Whether it is a one time workshop, presentation, or an ongoing class, we come to you! A corporate class is a gentle class allowing students to experience some midday relaxation! Our goal is to get you away from your desk and out of your head! Our corporate classes are always a hit!
Private Instruction: In your private class you will receive individual attention with dialog and adjustments specifically tailored for your needs. Private instruction is an excellent way to begin a yoga practice or to deepen your practice! Also, if you have questions, they can be addressed immediately.
Runners & Athletes: After your weekend road races, join us for this restorative yoga practice! We will incorporate Pranayama breathing exercises to enhance air flow and deep yoga stretches to target muscles that naturally tighten with running and other athletic activities. In addition, we will use core strengthening poses to enhance athletic performance, so that the following week at race time you are sure to achieve your personal best!
Kids/Teen Yoga: (These classes run in sessions. Must pre-register for this class) Children/Teens will learn the fundamentals of a yoga practice in a fun, encouraging environment. This class will teach children fun ways to de-stress, relax, re-energize, and improve concentration! Our program was taught in the Parma School District for 4 years through the EDC program. We have also taught our program at Twinsburg High School, Independence Life Guards, Girl Scout Troupes, and Brecksville Montessori School.
Prenatal Yoga: This class welcomes expecting moms at any stage of pregnancy. No yoga experience necessary. We’ll practice yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other moms in various stages of their pregnancies. Class will end with an extended savasana (pose of deep relaxation). Assists offered.
Alignment Based Yoga: Alignment based yoga encourages students to penetrate deeper into each pose no matter what their yoga experience. You will work toward an intense focus on the subtleties of each posture and find the muscular and organic energy of each pose and the blending of mind, body, and spirit. In an alignment based class, poses are typically held much longer so that students can pay close attention to the precise muscular and skeletal alignment and the breath. This class will incorporate props such as blocks, belts, and blankets to help accommodate any special needs such as injuries or structural imbalances.
